Nagasaki University Library has ownership and copyright of all the data including images provided by the servers. It is prohibited to copy, alter, redistribute, or sell part, parts, or all of the data. If you wish to use copyrighted data in publications, CD-ROM, VTR, broadcasting, lectures and so on, please contact library@ml.nagasaki-u.ac.jp in advance.
Nagasaki University Library has created the “Global Database of Old Japanese Photographs” in a collaboration with other domestic and international institutions. This database allows you to search for old photographs held by multiple institutions at once.
This database is digitized “Japanese Old Photographs of the Bakumatsu-Meiji Periods Collection” in the Nagasaki University Library, and it is open to the public.
The databese contains about 500 high-definition images of “Collection of Old Photographs from the Late Edo and Meiji Periods”.
This collection is comprised of about 1,300 photographic slides that Shuzo Ito (also spelt as Syuzo Itow) took in 16 field investigations of plants and vegetation in the Galapagos archipelago over 38 years since 1964.
