Q. I have tried searching, but my search returned no hits.

A. If your search does not return a hit, the journal is not available. In that case, you can order documents from other universities. If you have already registration, please log in with your ID and password from request application page.

Q. Can I access electronic journals from off-campus? How can I apply?

A. Not all but many journals are possible to access from off-campus using remote access service. But this service is limited to students and faculty and staff members of the Nagasaki University. Please refer to Remote Access Service.

Q. What should I do if I am asked for a credit card number?

A.That is “Pay per view”. You can purchase articles by your credit card payment. Please go by personal responsibility.

Q. What should I do if I am asked for username and password?

A. A few titles require a special username and password for access. Click the following icon displayed behind the title. You can get username and password. If this icon is not displayed, it is a non-subscription journal.

Q. What does “Most recent 1 year not available” mean?

A. “Most recent 1 year not available” means that you will be able to access the full text of articles published until 1 year before today’s date.

Q. When there were a few sites for one title, which should I have used?

A. Because the available period may be different, please be sure to check. If the available period may be same, you can use any of them.

Q. What is the difference between HTML and PDF?

A. HTML is a straight text (web page) of the article . PDF is a scanned copy of the article, and provides more superior print quality.

Q. We subscribes to the print version, but the online cannot get access.

A. Most print subscription includes free online access. But some journals make an additional charge for access to the online on top of the print subscription. Therefore, not all journals that are available in print version are available online.

Q. I clicked on a link to an online journal but could not access. What do I do?

A. Our maintenance may not be perfect (the particularly free journal). When you find a problem, please report it by email.

Q. How do I get impact factors for journals?

A. You can get impact factors for specific individual journal titles or for various journal titles in a particular subject category by using the Journal Citation Reports (JCR). Please access from Databases page. It is possible to access from off-campus.
